Message from Honorable Vice Chancellor-1

Dear Students, Faculty Members, Principals/Directors;

Namaskar!!!

At the outset, let me wish all of you a very happy, healthy and prosperous 2023. I congratulate all the students who have successfully completed their study in 2022 and will be awarded with diploma/ degree at 12th convocation of GTU.

To create a “world class” University campus on 100 Acre land at Lekawada Gandhinagar Bhoomi Poojan was done in the gracious presence of Shri Amitbhai Shah, Hon. Home Minister, Govt. of India and Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel, Hon. Chief Minister, Gujarat on 27th September 2022. This campus will have all modern amenities and sustainable/green environment designs.

Govt. of India announced National Education Policy 2020 for bringing the significant positive reforms in education ecosystem of India. GTU is one of the leading universities which actively started the implementation of various provisions of NEP 2020. For bringing multi-disciplinary approach in technical education domain, GTU has introduced the Minor/Honors degree in engineering. The School of Applied Science and Technology (SAST) has started offering M.Sc. in Industrial Biotechnology as well as Integrated M.Sc. Programs. School of Management studies as well as School of Pharmacy have started the BBA and B.Pharm programs respectively from AY 2022-23. More than 1000 students from various states of India as well as countries like Saudi Arabia, Australia, Tanzania, Kuwait, etc. have enrolled and successfully completed the short term online courses on 12 different titles on Indian Knowledge System (IKS) under “Dharohar - Centre for Indian Knowledge System”. Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) provides the opportunity to reputed industry/organizations to offer the short term, skill oriented courses jointly with GTU. In association with AICTE, 20 books of 1st year of Diploma and Degree Engineering are translated in Gujarati medium by GTU. This breakthrough decision shall remove the barrier of languages to the students of the nation, especially coming from rural background to excel in the higher education with their skill, knowledge and hard work.

GTU always remains at forefront in minimizing the gap between Industry & Academia. Looking at the need of “Industry Ready” manpower by the companies, GTU has introduced a Full-Semester Internship in Semester 8 of Bachelor of Engineering Program. In-similar line, the Summer Internship Project (SIP) for 2 week has been also introduced after Semester 6 of Bachelor of Engineering Program. I hope that the students who are pursuing their Semester 7 of Bachelor of Engineering are ready to join the 2nd batch of Full-Semester internship. I urge that wherever you do your internship, ensure that you put your 100% involvement and dedication to learn the dynamics of the industrial processes. This internship period can be a pathway to your dream job through which you can showcase not only your technical knowledge but also the virtues like sincerity, hard work, and positive attitude along with innovative approach to deal with the problems of organization. Many of you who are having entrepreneurial approach may learn the entire value chain of the industry and explore the business opportunity to start the ventures.

As GTU has completed the 5th year of the establishment of its own PG schools, it has been eligible to apply for the accreditation by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) in June 2022. The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of GTU has submitted Self Study Report (SSR) in month of October 2022 and the university expect the Peer Team visit in month of January/February 2023. This accreditation shall also bring great benefits to the students, faculties and all the stakeholders in terms of endorsement of high standard of education provided by GTU.

When the Nation is progressing towards re-establishing itself as “Vishwa Guru” in the able leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi Ji, it also bring an extraordinary responsivity to the youth of GTU for excelling in academics and applying the technological knowledge with the innovative skills to uplift the society and the Nation.

I wish all of you a very healthy, safe and productive year ahead.

Thank you.

Dr. Pankajray Patel
